¡Feliz 2016!..... y tutorial corona estrella

Querid@s lector@s, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para daros las gracias por estar ahí durante el 2015 aunque yo no haya tenido demasiado tiempo para vosotr@s. Espero seguir viendoos por aquí a lo largo de 2016.

Espero que os haya gustado la corona de estrella que he hecho esta mañana especialmente para vosotr@s. A continuación os dejo el paso a paso que os he preparado por si os animáis a hacer una.

I hope you liked the star wreath I have made this morning specially for all of you. Following you can find the step by step tutorial I have prepared in case you decide to make one.

1. Necesitaréis ramas de árbol, esponja de floristería, alambre de floristería, film trasparente, ramas de pino y acebo o unas ramitas con bolitas o bolitas de Navidad, para adornar.

2. Montar la estrella y la cruz central sobre la que se enganchará la esponja.

3. Unir las ramas según la foto con el alambre de floristería.

4. Cortar la esponja de floristería a una medida que se adapte al tamaño de la estrella, empaparla en agua y forrar con el film transparente para que no pierda el agua.

5. Con el alambre de floristería sujetar las esponja a la estructura central en X de la estrella.

6. Empezar clavando las ramas de pino de los lados de los picos de la estrella y, poco a poco, ir rellenando por el lateral de la esponja dependiendo del tamaño de las ramas de pino para que no pierda la forma de estrella.

7. Cortar trozos pequeños de las ramas de pino y clavar por la parte superior de la esponja hasta cubrirla toda.

8. Una vez cubierta completamente y formada la estrella se puede decorar con ramitas de acebo, con bolitas de Navidad o con cualquier otra planta con bolitas que pueda clavarse en la esponja.

1. You will need tree branches, floral foam, air plant wire, cling film, pine branches and holly flower or any plant with decorative balls or flowers, or small Christmas tree balls.

2. Put together the star and the central cross which will hold the floral foam.

3. Join the branches as in the picture using an air plant wire.

4. Cut the floral foam to the right size for the star, drown it in water and cover it with the cling film so it doesn't drop any water.

5. Attach the floral foam to the star's cross with the air plant wire.

6. Now you can start punching the pine branches to the floral foam. Start with the long ones as shown in the picture. Make sure you don't loose the star shape.

7. Cut small pieces of the pine branches to cover the stop of the floral foam, until you totally cover it.

8. Once you have covered the floral foam keeping the star shape, you can start decoring the wreath with the holly, or whatever you have chosen for the decoration.

Happy 2016!!!

Feliz Navidad

Aunque este año, por desgracia, no he podido dedicaros todo el tiempo que me hubiera gustado, aquí estoy, aprovechando las vacaciones de Navidad para relajarme y desearos unas felices fiestas. Me gustaría aprovechar esta entrada no solo para felicitaros, sino también para pediros disculpas por haberos tenido abandonad@s. Este año ha sido estresante en el trabajo y cuando llegaba a casa solo lograba sacar tiempo para mi hijo y poco más. Como bien sabéis me encanta coser y hasta eso he tenido que dejar un poco abandonado. Pero bueno, no todo van a ser quejas... El año se acaba y esperemos que el inicio de 2016 sea más relajado y me permita dedicar más tiempo a la costura y, por supuesto, a compartir mis trabajos con tod@ vosotr@s a través del blog, facebook, etc.. (ya son tantos medios que he perdido la cuenta).

Bueno, voy a intentar no enrrollarme mucho más, pero sí me gustaría aprovechar la ocasión para dar las gracias a todas las personas que se han puesto en contacto conmigo para preguntarme si estaba bien porque les había llamado la atención que tuviera el blog tan abandonado. A ellas y a tod@s os doy las GRACIAS y os deseo lo mejor para 2016.

El individual de Cristina

Todavía recuerdo el día que Cristina, una amiga del trabajo, me preguntó si le enseñaba a hacer patchwork. Me puse muy contenta al descubrir que le gustaban mis proyectos y que me quería como profesora, era mi primera alumna. Como ella sabía pintar broches de muñecas de madera y yo siempre quise aprender a pintarlos, le dije que podíamos compartir conocimientos y enseñarnos la una a la otra, así que eso hemos estado haciendo desde hace unos meses.

I still remember the day Cristina, a friend from work, asked me to teach her how to make patchwork. I was really happy when I found out she liked my projects and she wanted me as a teacher, she was my first pupil. Since she knew how to paint wooden brooch dolls and I had always wanted to learn, I told her that we could share our knowledge and teach each other, so that's what we've been doing for a few months now.

Hoy me gustaría compartir con tod@s vosotr@s el primer proyecto que ha terminado. Un mantel individual de lo más adorable, que ha hecho todito a mano y que además está muy bien hecho. ¿No os encanta? A mí sí.

Today I've like to share with all of you her first finished project. A really nice and lovely place mat which she has done all by hand and which is very well done. Don't you love it? I do.

Bolso Puzzle Estrellas de... Francesca Ogliari

¡Hace tanto de mi última entrada! Admito que las altas temperaturas me afectan de manera horrible y que no me apetece hacer nada más que tumbarme en el sofá y ver la tele (supongo que es lo que tiene ser del norte). Las temperaturas han bajado por fin, así que ya puedo empezar con la rutina. Aunque no me haya apetecido darle a la aguja ni al teclado, os he echado de menos a vosotr@s y a vuestros bonitos comentarios, por lo que estoy realmente feliz de estar de vuelta.

It's been a long time since my last post!!! I must admit that high temperatures are awful for me, since I don't feel like doing anything but lying on the sofa and watching TV (I guess it's part of being from the north). Temperatures have, finally, come down so I can start my routine. Even though I didn't feel like making any patchwork or computer work, I've missed you and your kind comments a lot, so I'm really happy to be back.

Hoy comparto con vosotr@s el bolso que hice con Francesca Ogliari, de Shabby Home, en su última visita a La Tertulia del Patch en Madrid. Es un diseño de su último libro, De Vuelta a Casa. Fui al curso con mis amigas Mª José y Rocío y, como siempre, nos los pasamos fenomenal con Francesca. Es muy dulce y una profesora increíblemente paciente, si todavía no has hecho un curso con ella te recomiendo que lo apuntes en tu lista de deseos, ¡merece la pena! Aquell@s que llevéis ya un tiempo siguiendo mi blog sabréis que yo soy superfan del trabajo de Francesca, supongo que su estilo y el mío son similares y que eso ayuda, así que intento ir a todos los que puedo.

Today I'm sharing with you the handbag a made with Francesca Ogliari, from Shabby Home, on her last visit to La Tertulia del Patch in Madrid. It's a design from her last book, Back Home. I went to the course with my friends Mª José and Rocío and, as usual, we had a great time with Francesca. She's really sweet and an incredibly patient teacher, if you haven't taken a course with her yet I recommend you to write it down in your wish list, it's really worth it!! Those of you who have been following my blog for a while will know I'm a great fan of Francesca's work, I guess her style it's quite similar to mine so that makes things easier, so I try to take as many of her courses as I can.

Me costó un poco pero terminé el bolso y me encanta el resultado final, aunque no estoy segura de si volvería a hacer otro (quizá cuando se me olvide lo duro que fue en algunos momentos). ¿Os gusta? Por favor, decidme que sí que me costó mucho coser tanta capa, en algún momento pensé que me cargaba la máquina de coser, jejeje.

It took my a while to finish the handbag but I love the final result, though I'm not sure I would repeat it (may be when I forget how hard it got at some points). Do you like it? Please, tell me you do because it was quite hard to sew so many layers together, at some points I thought I would destroy my sewing machine, LOL.

Quilt Me Club 2014 - Casi, casi terminado...

¡Casi terminado! Ha llevado mucho trabajo pero me ha alegrado formar parte del Quilt Me Club 2014 con Nataliejo de L'Atelier Perdu. Es una pena que no encontrara su blog antes porque he perdido la oportunidad de unirme a Quilt Clubs anteriores donde realizó trabajos de patch preciosos. Si todavía no la conocéis a ella y sus maravillosos Quilt y Stitch Clubs, os animo a que le hagáis una visita a su blog haciendo clic en el nombre del mismo.

Almost finished!!! It had a lot of work but I have loved being part of the 2014 Quilt Me Club with Nataliejo from L'Atelier Perdu. It's a pity I didn't find her blog sooner since I've missed the opportunity to join previous Quilt Clubs where she has done beautiful patchwork jobs. ¿Os gusta? Admito que me encanta, aunque no la uso tanto como me gustaría. Do you like it? I must admit I love it, even though I don't use it as much as I would like to. Unfortunately, lately I haven't had a lot of time to sew and this awful high summer temperatures in Madrid don't help (I'm exhausted most of the time). Hopefully this will change in September, so I will be able to show it off a lot. Will you join Nataliejo and me in her next Quilt Club? I'm willing for her to publish it. Hope to see you around.

As I promised sometime around March, more or less, today I would like to share with all of you the Crazy Stars Tutorial (sorry I have only written it in spanish, if any of you want it please let me know so I can translate it into english). P.D. Para l@s que no lo sepais, no os había abandonado, me caí a primeros de abril y tuve una luxación de codo. Los médicos me lo volvieron a coloca en sitio y el fisio me lo está poniendo en marcha de nuevo, pero no he podido trabajar ni coser hasta esta semana.

P.S. For those of you who didn't know, I haven't left the blog, I felt down at the beginning of April and my elbow moved from its place. The doctors got it back on the right place and the physiocerapist is helping me to get it fully functional again, so I haven't been able to work and sew until this week.

La bolsa del pan de Nacho

Mi amigo Nacho empezó a hacer su propio pan hace unos meses. Debo decir que lo probé y me encantó, es súpersabroso. Así que cuando me pidió que le hiciera una bolsa para el pan, ,no pude negarme. Tenía algo de tela que le había quedado de los cojines de las sillas y de las cortinas de la cocina, así que la trajo. Debo admitir que esto facilitó mi trabajo, teniendo solo que elegir la tela para las letras y la barra de pan que apliqué a la bolsa.

My friend, Nacho, started baking his own bread a few months ago. I must say I have tried it and I really like it, it's just so tasty. So when he asked me if I would make a bread bag for him I just couldn't say no. He had some fabric left from the chair pillows and the curtains of his kitchen so he brought it. I must admit that made my job even easier, I only had to choose the fabric for the letters and the baguette I applied to the bag.

Espero que os guste el resultado final. Tanto su mujer como él se pusieron muy contentos cuando vieron la bolsa del pan y los dos agarradores para el horno que les hice como extra con la tela que sobraba. Espero que esto ayude a que siga haciendo su propio pan, y que yo pueda probarlo de vez en cuando. Buen trato, ¿no?

Hope you all like the final result. Both his wife and he were very happy with their new bread bag and with a couple of pot holders I made as an extra with the remaining fabric. Hope this helps him keeping on baking his own bread so I can taste it every now and then. Good business, isn't it?

Cuestión de música

Compré esta tela de música pensando en mi hijo, quien toca el piano. Pensé que podía hacerle algo pero nunca se me ocurrió el qué. Así que cuando mi amiga Miriam me pidió, por segunda vez (ya le había hecho otra para su hijo), que le hiciera una funda para la flauta de su sobrino, no pude negarme. Tenía que ser lo más práctica posible, así que aunque le puse un botón de decoración, se cierra con velcro. Cuanto más fácil, mejor!! Miriam se la regaló a su sobrino, el martes pasado, por su cumpleaños y, por lo que he oído, le gustó mucho. Bueno!! Se me olvidó comentar que fue él quien dijo que quería una, así que por eso estaba encantado.

I bought this music fabric thinking about my son, who plays the piano. I thought I could make something for him but never found what that something could be. So when my friend Miriam asked me, for the second time (I had previously made one for her son), to make her a bag for her nephew's flute, I couldn't say no. It had to be practical so even if I have used a button as a decoration, it closes with velcro. The easier the better!!! Miriam gave it to her nephew as a birthday present last Tuesday, for what I heard he really liked it. Well!! I forgot to say that he was the one who wanted one, so that's why he was so pleased about it.

No queda tela, así que parece que después de todo mi hijo no tendrá nada hecho con esta tela. Pero eso da igual porque tengo una gran sorpresa para su cumpleaños, le voy a hacer una colcha llena de barcos para su cama. Él ha sido quien ha elegido el diseño y las telas así que espero que le guste el resultado final. ¿Y por qué he dicho sorpresa si lo ha elegido él todo? Porque lo eligió y compramos las telas hace un año, más o menos. ¿Os suena familiar? JAJAJA, seguro que os ha pasado más de una vez.

No fabric is left, so I guess my son won't be getting anything after all. Anyway, I have a big surprise for his birthday, I will be making a quilt for his bed full of boats. He has chosen the design and the fabrics so I hope he likes the final result. So why I have said that it's a surprise if he has chosen everything? Because he chose the design and we bought the fabrics about a year ago, more or less. Sound familiar to you? LOL, I'm sure it has happened to you many times.

Shopping Bag de Country Kitty

Como os había prometido hace un par de semanas... Me gustaría compartir con tod@s vosotr@s las Shopping Bags que mi amiga MJ y yo hemos hecho usando el tutorial gratuito que Federica, del blog Country Kitty, ha compartido con todas nosotras. Debo admitir que soy una gran admiradora de su trabajo así que no pude resistirme cuando vi el tutorial. Hasta tuve la tentación de hacer una visita a una de las tiendas de Susie Watson, pero supongo que tendrá que esperar hasta mi próxima visita al Reino Unido.

As I'd promised a couple of weeks ago... I would like to share with all of you the Shopping Bags my friend MJ and I have done using the free tutorial Federica, from the blog Country Kitty, has shared with all of us. I must admit I'm a great admirer of her work so I couldn't resist myself when I saw the tutorial. I even had a temptation to visit a Susie Watson shop, but I guess that will have to wait until my next visit to the UK.

Como podéis ver en las fotos, queda precioso uses las telas que uses. MJ y yo los hemos hecho distintos pero hemos querido mantener el tono rosa del bolso original de Federica. MJ ha usado un lino color crema y unas telas Tilda en tonos rosa (la del corazón de su última colección). En mi caso, he usado algunas telas de la última colección de Tilda (para los corazones y los bolsillos) mezcladas con algunas de una colección antigua, y para el exterior una telas de rayas que estaba reservando desde hace tiempo para una ocasión especial.

As you can all see in the pictures, it looks really nice no matter what fabrics you use. MJ and I have made them using different fabrics but keeping the pink shade from Federica's original one. MJ has used a creamy linen fabric and some Tilda pink tone fabrics (the heart one is from the latest collection). In my case I used some fabrics from Tilda's latest collection (for the hearts and pockets) mixed with some from one of the old collections and for the outside I used a striped fabric I had been keeping, quite long, for a special occasion.

2 días para el Shopping Bag de Country Kitty

Hace un par semanas publiqué una entrada donde os enseñaba un tutorial que Country Kitty había compartido gratuitamente. En esa entrada os animaba a que lo hiciéramos junt@s. ¿Se ha animado alguién? Sé que con Sitges de por medio no he dejado mucho margen, pero para aquell@s de vosotr@s que no habéis tenido la oportunidad de hacerlo, me gustaría animaros, es muy fácil de hacer (Federica lo explica muy bien) y el resultado final creo que es ideal.

Two weeks ago I published a post where I told you about a free tutorial Country Kitty had shared with all of us. In that post I asked you if you would like to make it all together. Have any of you started doing it? The Spanish quilters probably were quite busy at Sitges Patchwork Festival. So for those of you who didn't have the chance to do it, I would like to encourage you to make one, it's quite easy (Federica's instructions are very good) and I think the final result its gorgeous.

La muñeca de la princesa Sara

Os preguntaréis quién es Sara, pues bien, es mi dulce sobrinita. El 6 de marzo fue su primer cumpleaños y quise hacerle un regalo especial que pudiera tener por muchos años. Bueno, no estoy totalmente segura de que dure tanto tiempo!! ¿Qué os parece? ¿Estará "viva" dentro de unos 3 años?

You might be wondering who Sara is, well she is my sweet little niece. The 6th of March was her first birthday so I wanted to give her a special present she could keep for many years. Well, I'm not sure the doll will last that long!! What do you think? Will it still be "alive" in about 3 years?

La muñeca es de un diseño del último libro de Francesca Ogliari "De vuelta a casa". El año pasado vino a Madrid a enseñar a hacer la muñeca, pero desgraciadamente no pude asistir al curso porque tenía a mi familia de visita. Entre ellos estaba mi hermana, a quien llevé conmigo a comprar algunas telas, así que tuvo la oportunidad de conocer a Francesca y de ver una de sus preciosas muñecas. Cayó prendada inmediatamente, así que me lo dejó muy fácil para elegir qué muñeca hacer a mi sobrina. Espero que os haya gustado, creo que tanto a mi sobrina como a mi hermana les gustó.

The doll is a design from the latest book of Francesca Ogliari "Back Home". Last year she came to Madrid to show how to make the doll, but unfortunately I couldn't assist to the course because my family was visiting. Among them was my sister, whom I took with me to buy some fabrics so she had the opportunity to meet Francesca and see one of her  pretty dolls. She felt in love immediately, so it was quite easy to decide which doll I would make for my niece. Hope you all have like it, I think both, my niece and sister, did.

Today I would like to share with all of you the fantastic free-tutorial Federica has published in her blog, Country Kitty, this week. Most of you have probably seen it by now but here I am just in case. The shopping bag she shows how to make it's so pretty it would be a shame any of you would miss it.

Ella ha usado unas telas divinas de Susie Watson pero, desgraciadamente, no sé dónde podría conseguirlas en Madrid, así que para el mío he elegido unas que tenía por casa (las de la foto de arriba). Estoy orgullosa de mí misma porque no he salido corriendo a la tienda a comprar telas nuevas y he de decir que me siento bien por ello. ¡Debo estar madurando!

She has used some really marvelous fabrics from Susie Watson but, unfortunately, I don't know where I could get them in Madrid. So for mine I have chosen some fabrics I already had at home (see picture above). I 'm proud of myself because I haven't run to the shop to get new fabrics and I must say I feel good about it. I must be growing up!!!

Pintando Gorjuss

El primer año de Creativa en Madrid había un stand donde estaban enseñando a pintar muñecas de madera, creo que eran Gorjuss pero no me acuerdo muy bien. El curso que daban estaba completo así que no tuve la oportunidad de hacerlo. ¡Qué pena! Desde entonces siempre lo he tenido en mente como algo que quería hacer en algún momento. Una de mis compis del trabajo, Cristina, pinta broches monísimos y más de una vez pensé en pedirle que me diera clases, así que cuando ella me preguntó si le daría clases de patchwork y que cuanto cobraba, le dije que por supuesto que se las daría pero a cambio de que ella me enseñase a pintar muñecas, botones o lo que se terciase.

The first year of Creativa in Madrid there was a stand where they were teaching how to paint wood dolls, I think they were Gorjuss but I don't really remember. The course being taught was full so I didn't get the chance to do it. Pity!!! Ever since then, I have always had it in mind as something I wanted to do at some point. One of my work friends, Cristina, paints really nice doll brooches so I thought about asking her to give me some lessons, so when she asked me if I would give her patchwork lessons and how much I would charge her for them, I told her that I would sure teach her in exchange of her painting lessons so I would learn how to paint dolls, buttons or whatever that can be hand painted.

Hoy os muestro las primeras tres Gorjuss que he pintado (¡soy súper fan de las Gorjuss!), las dos más pequeñas son broches y la otra la he usado para decorar un marco con la palabra LOVE que ya tenía. He tenido un poco de ayuda de Cristina, aunque he hecho la mayoría, me ha ayudado con los ojos, colorete y pestañas. Creo que a las pequeñas no les voy a hacer nada más, pero puede que haga algunos cambios a la grande. He pensado en hacerle un pañuelo para el cuello (en tela) y un par de lazos para las coletitas. ¿Qué os parece? ¿Debería dejarla como está o añadir algunos extras? ¿Alguna otra cosa que añadiríais? Otra duda que tengo es si dejarla en el marco LOVE o si ponerla en un marco y colgarla en la pared, ¿qué haríais vosotras?

Today I'm showing you my first three painted Gorjuss (I'm a great Gorjuss fan!!), the two little ones are brooches and the other one I have used it to decorate a LOVE frame I already had. I must admit I had some help from Cristina, even if I did most of it, she helped me painting the eyes, blush and eyelashes. I don't think I'm gonna do any changes to the little ones, but I might do some to the big one. I have thought about making a scarf (a fabric one) for her neck and a couple of bows for her ponytails. What do you think?? Should I leave it like this or add some extras?? Anything else you would add?? Another thing I'm doubting about is that I'm not sure about leaving it as part of the LOVE frame or if I should put it in a frame and hang it on the wall, what would you do?

Sujeta-Puertas "The English Quilt Shop"

Dos de mis primeros libros de patch eran de Veronique Requena. Fueron amor a primera vista. Aunque ya he he hecho bastantes proyectos de los que explica Veronique en sus dos primeros libros, todavía me quedan varios. El sujeta-puertas del libro "Mystery Quilt" fue uno de los proyectos que pensé en hacer a principios del año pasado, hasta llegué a elegir las telas, pero no lo empecé hasta las navidades pasadas. Acabo de terminarlo así que seréis l@s primer@s en verlo. Por supuesto, lo he adaptado a mi estilo eligiendo una tela de lunares y otra romántica de flores. Para decorar el tejado de la casa he usado un botón que nos dio Veronique de parte de Lizzy, en el curso que impartió en Madrid el invierno pasado.

Two of my first quilting books were by Veronique Requena. These books were love at first sight. Even though I have made many of the projects Veronique explains in her two first books, I still have some projects left. The door stop from the "Mystery Quilt" book was one of those projects I thought about doing at the beginning of last year, I had even chosen the fabrics, but didn't start it until last Xmas. I have just finished it so you'll be the first ones to see it. Of course I gave the project my own style using polka dots and some romantic flower fabric. To decorate the roof of the house, I used a button that Veronique gave us in behalf of Lizzy, at her Madrid's course last winter.

¿Os ha gustado? Eso espero, a mí me encanta. Es una pena que sea para dejar en el suelo. Mi hijo me ha dicho que debería utilizarla como decoración en alguna habitación en vez de usarla como sujeta-puertas. ¿Para qué la utilizaríais vosotr@s?

Do you like it? Hope you do because I love it. It's a pity it has to rest on the floor. My son has told me I should used it to decorate some room in the house instead of using it as a door stop. What would you use it for??

La casita de La Ardilla Ana

Los días pasan y parece que no logro sacar el tiempo suficiente para terminar ninguno de los proyectos que tengo en marcha, así que he decidido enseñaros esta casita que hice hace un año y que todavía no os había mostrado. ¿Que para qué sirve? Para lo que se os ocurra, yo la uso para guardar hilos de bordar.

Days go by and it seems I don't get enough time to finish any of my actual projects, so I've decided to show you this little house I made about a year ago which I hadn't shown you yet. What is it for? For anything that comes to your mind, I use it to keep embroidery thread.

Finally Friday!! I'm sure many of you are really happy just thinking there're only a few hours left of work until the weekend starts. Soon you'll get some free time to do whatever you like (sewing for me). Today I would like to share with you this star cushion I made sometime ago and which I hadn't shown you yet.

Bolsita para las agujas de punto

Hace ya bastante tiempo que hice este guardagujas de punto. El original era parecido pero hice algún cambio para usarlo para las agujas de punto en vez de para las de coser. Debo decir que no me acuerdo muy bien del original, me parece que la diferencia estaba en el bolsillo para guardar las agujas, creo que tenía un libro guardagujas en vez de este bolsillo. Así que si no hacéis punto podéis cambiarlo y usar la bolsita para vuestros accesorios de costura. ¡Espero que os guste la idea!

It's been quite a long time since I made this knitting needles case. The original case was similar but I made some changes in order to use it for my knitting needles instead of my sewing ones. I must say I don't remember very well the original one, maybe the difference was in the needles pocket, I think it had a needle book instead of the pocket. So if you don't knit you can change that and use it for sewing accessories. Hope you like the idea!!!

Creo que el diseño podría ser fácilmente adaptado dependiendo de vuestras necesidades. ¿Os lo podéis imaginar dejando el exterior, las asas y las cintas para cerrarlo, y con dos bolsillos interior para sujetar un libro? ¿No creéis que quedaría monísimo como una funda para libros? ¿Y si dejarais solo los bolsillos grandes, cerrarais los laterales y la usarais como una bolsita de mano? Una de mis tías me lo sugirió porque pensó que era demasiado bonito para no lucirlo más. De una u otra manera, espero que os haya gustado el diseño. Ya me contaréis cuál es vuestra opción favorita.

I think this design could be nicely adapted depending on what you need. Can you imagine leaving the outside shape with the handles and lace to close it, and making two inside pockets in order to hold a book?? Don't you think it would make a nice book case?? What about if you just leave the big pockets, close it on the sides and use it as a nice purse?? One of my aunties suggested me this option because she thought it was too cute not to show it off more. One way or the other, I hope you all like the design. Hope you all tell be which is your favorite option.

Scones para una merienda de domingo

Ayer hice unos scones para merendar y pensé en compartirlos hoy con vosotr@s, por si os apetecía hacerlos para vuestra merienda del domingo. Los scones son típicos del Reino Unido y suelen tomarse en el Afternoon Tea. Suelen acompañarse de clotted cream y mermelada pero encontrar clotted cream en España no suele ser fácil, así que la podemos sustituir por un poco de mantequilla o nata espesa, aunque yo suelo tomarlos solo con la mermelada (los de ayer con una de higos que hice en septiembre).

Yesterday I made scones for the afternoon tea and thought of sharing them with you today, just in case you feel like having them in your Sunday's afternoon tea. Scones are typical in the UK and they're usually taken with the Afternoon Tea. Scones are accompanied of clotted cream and jam but finding clotted cream in Spain is not an easy task, therefore it can be replaced by butter or double cream, even though I take them only with jam  (I used a figues one I made in September).

Receta

• 500 g de harina (yo uso la bizcochona)
• 2 sobres de levadura química (32 g)
• Una pizca de sal
• 80 g de azúcar
• 150 g de mantequilla fría 
• 250 g de leche fría

Precalentar el horno a 200ºC. En un bol mezclar la harina con la levadura, la sal, el azúcar y la mantequilla cortada en trocitos. Mezclar bien con las manos para integrar la mantequilla. Añadir la leche y amasar hasta obtener una masa que no se quede pegada en las manos pero que tampoco esté demasiado seca. Extender la masa sobre una superficie espolvoreada con harina, deberá tener un grosor de unos 2-3 cm. Cortar los scones con la ayuda de un vaso de boca estrecha (unos 5 cm de diámetro) o con un cortapastas. Poner los scones en una fuente de horno, cubierta con papel de hornear, dejando más o menos un dedo de distancia entre unos y otros. Hornear durante unos 12-15 minutos o hasta que hayan cogido un leve tono doradito.

Recipe

• 500 g of flour (I use self-raising)
• 2 sachets of baking powder (32 g)
• A pinch of salt
• 80 g of sugar
• 150 g of cold butter
• 250 g of cold milk

Pre-heat the oven at 200ºC. In a bowl mix the flour with the baking powder, the salt, the sugar and the butter in small pieces. Mix well all these ingredients using your hands. Add the milk and mix until you get a dough which is not very sticky nor too dry. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface, it should have a thickness of about 2-3 cm. Cut the scones with the help of a narrow glass (about 5cm diameter) or a pastry cutter. Place the scones on a baking tray, covered with baking paper, leaving a distance of a finger between them. Bake during 12-15 minutes or until the scones have a soft tan color.

Mi bolso Amélie de invierno

Por último, después de todos los bolsos que os he enseñado, me gustaría mostraros el bolso Amélie que hice para mí. Bueno, eso no es del todo cierto!!! Lo hice para vender pero me gustó tanto que decidí quedármelo. Supongo que es algo que pasa con cierta frecuencia, por lo menos a mí. ¿Os pasa también a vosotr@s? Estoy casi segura que la respuesta en un SÍ en mayúsculas.

Last but not least, I would like to show you the Amélie bag I've made for myself. Well, that's not right!! I made it to sell but I liked it so much that I decided to keep it for me. I guess that's something that happens quite often, at least it tends to happen to me. Does it happen to you as well?? I'm pretty sure the answer is a capital YES.

Bolsos Amélie para vender

¡Buenos días! Hoy me gustaría compartir con tod@s vosotr@s unos bolsos que he hecho para vender este invierno. Estos son los que me quedaban la semana antes de Navidad (ya solo quedan el azul y el rosa), al resto no me dio tiempo a hacerles fotos. ¡Eso me pasa por tardar tanto en hacerlas!

Good morning!!! Today I would love to share with all of you some bags I made to sell this winter. These are the ones I had left the week before Xmas (now the only ones left are the blue and the pink one), I didn't have the chance to photograph the sold ones. That's what happens when it takes you so long to take the pictures!!!

Los bolsos los he hecho usando el diseño Amélie de Country Kitty. ¿No os parece un diseño precioso? Por si alguna está interesada, podéis encontrar el patrón en su tienda de Etsy. Sale muy bien de precio y yo ya lo he amortizado de sobra con los que he vendido. Creo que es el bolso que más he hecho y vendido.

The bags were made using the Amélie Bag design from Country Kitty. Don't you think that it's a beautiful design? In case any of you is interested, you can find the pattern at her Etsy shop. The price is fair and I've got the money back way over from the bags I sold. Probably this is the bag I've done and sold the most.

Las que me seguís desde hace tiempo sabréis que no es la primera vez que os muestro un bolso hecho usando este diseño. El año pasado, por febrero, hice uno usando telas de patch de algodón para darle un look un poco más primaveral. Esta vez me he decantado por telas más gruesas porque, según se acercaba el frío, cada vez me apetecía más usar bolsos de "invierno". ¿No os pasa también a vosotras? Yo tiendo a separar, no solo la ropa sino también los accesorios, entre temporadas de buen tiempo y de frío. ¿Y por qué digo buen tiempo y no verano? Porque en cuanto empieza a hacer un poco de calorcito y sol me apetece sacar los accesorios clasificados en el grupo de buen tiempo. Vale!!! La regla no aplica a todo, no saco las sandalias en marzo si hace una semana de calorcito y solazo.

Those of you who have been following me for a long time, will know that this is not the first time that I show you a bag made using this design. Last year, around February, I made one using cotton patchwork fabrics in order to give the bag a sprint time look. This time I've decided to use thicker fabrics because, as cold was getting closer, I felt like using "winter" bags. Doesn't this happen to you as well? I tend to separate, not only clothes but accessories, in nice weather and cold groups. Why do I say nice weather and not summer? That's because as soon and the heat rises and the sun brights I feel like using the accessories in the nice weather group. Well!!! This rule doesn't apply to all of them, I don't start using my sandals in March even if we get a week of nice weather.

Un bolso para Cuqui

Sé que ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la última entrada donde os enseñaba una de mis labores. He estado cosiendo un montón y también he aprovechado para hacer cambios en el blog, como bien podéis ver. Por cierto, espero que os guste el nuevo look que le he dado. Así que finalmente, he encontrado un ratito para enseñaros algunos de los proyectos en los que he estado trabajando.

I know it's been quite long since the last post where I had shown you something done by me. I've been sewing a lot and making changes to the blog, as you can all see. By the way, hope you all like the new look. So finally, I've found the time to show you some of the stuff I've been working on.

Empezaré con el bolso que hice para la profe de piano de mi hijo. Estaba buscando algo cómodo, con espacio y fácil de llevar, sobretodo cuando estaba de vacaciones. Me dijo lo que buscaba y yo lo diseñé. ¿Os gusta el resultado final? A ella le encantó!!!

I will start with the handbag I did for my son's piano teacher. She was looking for something comfortable, with plenty of space and easy to carry, mainly, whenever she was on holidays. She told me what she was looking for and I designed it. Do you like the final result? She loved it!!!

Regalos y Premios...¡Qué fiestas!

Voy a empezar dando las gracias a Lily, del blog Tita Lily, por esos maravillosos regalos que he tenido la suerte de recibir como ganadora del concurso que realizó en su blog. Para las que no la conozcáis, os invito a que os paséis a visitarla. Tiene un blog chulísimo, me encanta su diseño (es que estoy en modo diseño y ahora me fijo mucho, jijiji), y hace cosas preciosas.

I'd like to start giving thanks to Lily, from the blog Tita Lily  for those really nice presents I've been so lucky to get from her as the winner of a ruffle she made at her blog. For those of you who still don't know her blog, I'd like to invite you to visit it. She's got a marvelous blog, with a really nice design (something I pay a lot attention to these days..), and makes really beautiful things.

Cuando llegué a casa de pasar Navidad con mis padres, tenía otro regalo esperándome en la oficina de correos. En el buzón había una nota diciendo que tenían un paquete para mí. Como podéis ver, Lily había preparado dos paquetitos monísimos con los regalos, e incluido un par de lolipops que me comí una vez había abierto todo.

When I got home after Christmas at my parents, I had another present waiting for me at the Post Office. In the mailbox, there was a note saying they had a parcel waiting for me. As you can all see, Lily had made two really cute parcels with the presents, and had included a couple of lollipops  I ate as soon as I had opened everything.

Estoy segura de que os encantan los regalos hechos por Lily. ¡Tiene muy buen gusto! Ya he estrenado todos y a mis amigas les encantan... (Están envidiadas!!). GRACIAS DE NUEVO, LILY!!!

Por otro lado, me gustaría agradecer los premios que, allá por octubre, me otorgó Paqui Galán, del blog Dreams. Sé que ha pasado mucho tiempo pero, aunque tarde, aquí estoy. Primero de todo me gustaría agradecer a Paqui el haber pensado en mí, ¡muchísimas gracias, guapetona!

Los que he probado son de una marca que se llama Ysla, que parece que es la más conocida. Eso sí!!! Exclusivos para mega-golosas, son súper dulces y empalagosos. Vamos, lo mío...
